Value addition brings fish to today's generation in a form that is appealing to it. If not it will lose the battle to poultry and red meat. Markets need to see through the eyes of the ever-changing consumer. Fish being considered as a very healthy food has big market growth potential in the consumer market where there is an emergence of new styles and forms of seafood. Thus, it is time for a paradigm shift to value addition maintaining high quality standards, with diversified products and processors to ensure sustainability and profitability of the industry.
