Loligo Uyii (also known as semi-needle squid): occurs in the Kerala and Tamil Nadu coasts (South coast). Occasionally caught in small quantities in Andhra Pradesh (Vizag) regions. Maximum size usually obtained from Indian waters are:
Male: 8 - 20 cms
Females: 11.3 - 22 cm (mantle length)
